By the time I was five years old my grandmother, Agnes Garland-Brown, had become ill with Alzheimer’s and all I recall of her is that she sat in our dad’s rocking chair, holding our baby brother Wade on her knee, while she sang “This Little Light of Mine” and “Rock of Ages.” She and my grandfather William were Salvation Army people that came to Toronto from Newfoundland sometime in the early 1900’s. I believe that in 1980 God used her fervent prayers to save me, by the blood of Jesus, out of the occult. I pray that God will also honor my prayers for my children and my children’s children down through the generations to come.

“But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto their children's children.” Psalm 103:17 KJV
